At 2304 meters high, this mountain top is surrounded by a tropical rainforest. The stunning beauty of its landscape is complemented further by three main
rivers Kelani, Walawe and Kalu. It is also surrounded by a conservation site comprising the Peak Wilderness Sanctuary. Adam’s Peak is home to a large rock with a giant footprint atop its peak. This footprint is believed to be of God ‘Sri Rama’ according to Hinduism, of ‘Lord Buddha’ in Buddhist beliefs, and the
‘Prophet Adam’ in Christianity and Islam.
