Horton Plains is a wildlife reserve, renowned for its magnificent landscapes of rolling hills, forests, and grasslands. It has the highest plain on the island, occupying approximately 10,000 hectares. It has 24 different species of mammals, including porcupines, leopards, wild boar, hare, giant squirrels, and elk.
